You won’t find a list of galleries showing my art, nor lists of prizes or other recognition of my work on this website (although I was awarded a gold star for a piece done in crayon and pencil in fifth grade). I have sold a number of paintings solely through word-of-mouth and have been encouraged to expand my target audience so here goes.

A little about me. My dad was a color and dyes chemist, and it wasn’t uncommon for him to bring home a colorful rainbow of fabric swatches mounted on a foamboard. At dinner he’d ask my two sisters, Mom and me what we liked and felt about each color. That was my introduction to the impact and effect of color. I’ve been told my work has a luminosity and vibrancy to it and maybe Dad had something to do with that.

After 40+ years of doodling in boring corporate meetings, I thought I’d try painting in oils after I retired. I was fortunate to find two award winning artists with works recognized on the North Shore and nationally as well. They are also wonderful teachers. One asked me to bring my portfolio so he could evaluate my work. Having none, he asked me to audition in person for him and thankfully I passed his muster and he took me as a student.

That was about five years ago and painting in oils is now “my happy place.” I hope you enjoy looking at these paintings as much as I do painting them. If you have any questions, please contact me.
